If you are one of them, then a career in writing is the best for you. You may want to consider getting a degree in creative writing, comparative literature or even journalism to prepare yourself for it.
Once you acquire formal education, job search comes next. Knowing where to locate writing jobs is never easy. Here are some tips to point you in the right direction:
1. Create a portfolio. Be creative in making a decent-looking one. If you have a published work, the better. You can use it as sample when an opportunity presents itself.
2. Use both online and traditional job resources. Use the internet in searching for writing jobs. You may also want to try reading newspaper for job openings and applying in a publication near you.
3. Be positive and realistic. Don’t set unrealistic expectations since you are only starting and this won’t be of any help when you create a career path.
