Choosing the college degree you wish to pursue is not all about figuring out which one will land you a career with a really huge paycheck. While you have to be practical and think about the financial stability of your future, basing your decisions solely on money matters will increase the likelihood that you’ll end up in a job where you will be really unhappy, or at the least – dissatisfied. This is why you should also always factor in your personality when figuring out which are the best degrees for you.
The good news is that colleges these days already know the importance of personality in determining your suitability for a career and, in turn, the majors that will allow you to pursue that career. This is why they have career counsellors available, whose job is to guide future and present students as you figure out what you really want to do in life.
When conferring with a career counsellor make sure you are always open and truthful as to your aspirations, strengths, weaknesses, and quirks, so that they can assess you more accurately. Remember, they are there not to judge you, but to help you. Listen to their advice and go over the choices they offer you. However, even if you find something that appeals to you at once, it is better to continue your research since some other college may offer other choices that are not available in others. Compare the best degrees offered by different colleges and choose the one that not only suits your personality, but also answers your other needs, such as affordability.

Statistics show that there is a constant rise in the number of women bread-winners all over the globe. Men tend to quickly fall victim of job market losses and find it harder to find jobs leaving their partners to do all the work. This does not go to say that there are no jobs around for men, but that they tend to find less favorable companies to work with opposed to women.
Women are also finding new jobs faster than men mainly in the health care and education, job fields less affected by economic turmoil that continues to plague us. This trend follows those that shows seniors are less likely to retire, even opting to stay employed indefinitely to keep the cash rolling in. Retirement is not a figure measured in age but rather in the capacity to sustain retirement should they opt to go for it.

Setting aside these categories, 25 books manage to outshine the rest. These books are considered classics backed up by their popularity, prominent reviews and academic use.
Occupying the 25th position is “The Wealth of Nations” (1991) by Adam Smith. Chester I. It describes the basic principles of management used by 43 companies categorized as excellent. The list just shows that the best business books are determined by the relevance of its contents regardless of the period it was made.

Career experts say a person’s temperament can greatly affect his career choice. Upon learning that, it somehow made sense to me why a friend of mine who had a short-temper back then, didn’t took the advice of his family to pursue a teaching career.
If you come to think about it, temperament is also a basis of one’s ability to handle stress. In the workplace, stress is inevitable and it depends on the nature of your job how much stress you are likely to experience.
Extraverts and introverts are on the opposite poles when it comes to temperament. That is why according to a study, extraverts are career generalist and introverts are career specialist.
